Notting Hill Carnival 2011

Costume design

 

Red, the colour of passion, anger, love, blood and so much more!

Elimu Paddington Arts invited us to design costumes for their 2011 carnival band based on themes of the colour red.

Movement and dance.  Light and strong.  Large and small.  Structure and decoration.  Large costumes were designed as three dimensional sculptures and the movement and materials of each element was considered in the design to accentuate the wearer when in the parade and to catch the light.

We worked in collaboration with the carnival club in the production of the costumes.
