Loftus Road.

W12 London.

Loft and upper ground floor extension

Completed 2011

The client approached us with a dilemma, whether to move to a bigger house outside of an area that they really liked, or to try to improve and enlarge their existing house to suit their needs and growing family.

We converted a two bedroom flat with a tiny kitchen and no garden space into a four bedroom home with three terraces and a garden, allowing the family to expand from four to six.  A new loft space was created with a  “secret” terrace for the adults of the family.  The extended kitchen space now opens up onto a screened terrace which connects to a garden below.

The use of light, space and colour transformed this London terraced house into a spacious living environment for an expanding family.  The house evolved from having no outdoor space and a cramped kitchen to having a light filled kitchen opening onto a terrace, a loft space opening on to  a private terrace and a third rear terrace on the intermediate level.
