Duplex

The proposal is for two apartments topped with a butterfly roof, facilitating the collection of rainwater,  it appears as one dwelling suitable in scale to the size of the site.

The site is a challenging 6m wide strip of land which backs onto the Atlantic Ocean and is bordered by a car park.  Maintaining privacy and a sense of ownership for each apartment was important and thus each one has it’s own entrance away from their neighbour.   In addition each apartment has private outdoor space and both have views of the sea.  Clever use of openable screening helps to maintain privacy whilst still allowing for views.
